First home owners grant Vic
A first home owners grant Vic payment of $10,000 is available for eligible first home buyers who enter into contracts on or after 1 July 2013 to either build or purchase a new home. This grant is not available to purchasers of established homes.
The first home owners grant Vic is only payable where the price of the property or construction of the home is valued at $750,000 or less.
The qualification criteria for the First home owners grant in Vic are:
–> You and your partner haven’t received a first home owners grant Vic in Australia before.
–> You and your partner haven’t owned residential property, either jointly or separately, in Australia, prior to 1 July 2000.
–> You and your partner haven’t lived in a house in Australia in which either of you owned or part-owned on or after 1 July 2000, for a consecutive six months.
The above criteria apply even if your partner or spouse is not an applicant with you for the first home owners grant Vic.
–> You must be a person (not a company), and at least 18, at the time of settlement or completion of construction. However, discretion can be applied for the age requirement.
–> You (or at least one of the applicants) must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident at the time of settlement or completion of the home’s construction, and
–> You (or at least one of the applicants) must intend to live in the home as your principle place of residence for at least 12 months, commencing within 12 months of settlement or completion of construction.
Purchasers of established homes are no longer eligible to receive the $10,000 first home owners grant Vic.
